I Have Pain When I Run.

Running.. so many people fall in love with it but end up giving it up because of pain. Have you found yourself stopping because of some kind of pain when you run - knee pain, hip pain, foot pain, ankle pain, back pain?

Often we hear “I’m getting older, running must not be in the cards for me anymore”. We absolutely challenge that statement. We have seen many of our clients who think this way go through treatment with us and hit the pavement for runs again sans pain.

The area you feel pain in when you are running may not be the area that needs intervention. That’s why we look at the body as a whole. Let us tell you about one of our clients who was experiencing a few different areas of pain and discomfort when training to run the Boston Marathon.

Check out the video below. We show you one way we tackled the back pain she was feeling when running with an explanation from our Founder Dr. Jia!

If you’re experiencing back pain while running it’s possible that you may not have the proper muscle coordination in your nervous system.

When this happens you may subconsciously use more of your back muscles to propel yourself forward rather than relying on your legs. This can lead to increased strain on your back muscles, resulting in back pain or discomfort.

To solve this we specifically implemented a strategy that eliminates her back from being able to work so we can give her legs no choice but to engage! By doing this, we are retraining her nervous system to kick on the right muscles at the right time so her next run can feel smooth and enjoyable.

If you want to get to the bottom of your running pains we’re here waiting and rooting for you.
